Subaru Mobility Assist Program
At Subaru of Moncton, we support our customer's automotive needs and strive to offer more services to make our vehicles more accessible for all. We are proud to be a Subaru dealership that provides the Subaru Mobility Assist program. This program aims to assist customers with a rebate towards equipment necessary to accommodate the driver and their family's specific needs. Our dealership is in Dieppe, New Brunswick, and customers from surrounding areas are welcome to use our Directions page to get turn-by-turn directions directly to our showroom.
What is Subaru Mobility Assist?
Subaru Mobility Assist program helps Subaru owners get the equipment they need to make their vehicle accessible for them and their immediate family members. This program offers a rebate of $750 to the original owner to get adaptation devices to accommodate medically recognized physical disabilities. Some of the common devices that are eligible, but not limited to, include left-hand gear shifter, pedal extensions, servo-assisted controls, steering devices, turn-signal modifications, and hand and foot controls. When considering adaptation equipment and installation facilities, ensure that the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association accredits them to qualify for the program.
Program Qualifying Criteria
To properly take advantage of this program, you will have to understand the terms and follow the instructions to get the rebate. To qualify, you will have to fit the following:
- You will have to be the original vehicle owner to be eligible for the rebate.
- All modifications and adaptations must be made for either the original owner or their immediate family members to qualify.
- This program is only intended for new Subaru vehicles retailed or leased in Canada and sourced from an authorized Subaru dealership.
- There is a limitation of one reimbursement request per vehicle.
- Lease vehicles require lessor approval, and the customer has to determine and meet lease-contract agreement requirements.
- For adaptations to qualify under the program, they are required to be installed within one year of purchase or lease.
- Reimbursement forms must be received within six months from the installation date, and they must be correctly filled and submitted to Subaru Canada with all supporting documentation.
Limitations of the Mobility Assist Program
The program has some limitations, such as the customer has to find an appropriate equipment manufacturer and an installation facility. Subaru Canada does not endorse any company or supplier and claims no responsibility for the installation of adaptive equipment or modifications. Customers with leased vehicles need to speak to the leasing company before making any modifications. Subaru Canada claims no responsibility for the cost in the case that modifications have to be removed for the end of the lease. Lastly, Subaru Canada has the right to deny the rebate for modifications or installation of adaptive equipment that alters the function of factory safety equipment such as seat belts or airbags.
